HP4HV
When a Veteran stands up and says, "I will voluntarily help to protect this Country", he or she deserves the best when they are done or even while they are still proudly serving. When a pet finds itself in a shelter, on the cusp of not having a home, or hanging at a wondeful resuce waiting for a companion, they deserve the best. Hero Pets 4 Hero Vets is striving to take both of these Hero's and match them up together.
HP4HV is a Non-Profit that is family owned by Disabled Veterans. Both my husband and I are Disabled Veterans from the U.S. Navy (I did almost 7 years and he did close to 10). The primary of objective of HP4HV is to help to match rescues and homeless pets to Veterans as either a basic companion dog (we can also do kitties or reptiles) or even as a service dog . We are working with local rescues and individuals who might be in a "ruff" situation to find our Hero Pets, and then we spend 2-3 days a week at the VA hospital in Reno, NV to find our Deserving Vets.
We are also willing to pay adoption fees for Veterans in the area looking for companionship in the various shelters. Additionally, we are trying to help homeless veterans who have pups that need spay/neuter or with basic supplies to keep their best friend healthy. We have already placed 12 dogs in our first 9 months and are currently helping a homeless veteran fix his dog.
To support this program we are selling basic pet supplies and some not so basic supplies. Check out how you can help us while getting supplies for your pet.

Of course Donations are more then appreciated and at this point 100% of all donations goes to a Veteran and their new companion.
We are currently using almost ALL of the proceeds for the pets and the vets. Of course we do have some basic expenses (gas to get to the hospital, etc), but we have not taken anything for ourselves at this point and have decided that we would collect a $200/wk salary for both of us after the first year, if and only if we have successfully completed 15 matches. We WILL get there!
Your Money at Work
We are happy to announce that Hero Pets 4 Hero Vets has our own Dog Trainer / Groomer. Cynthia Taylor and her family have moved to Reno, NV. November 1st, 2011 just to be apart of our organization. She is donating all of her services to the program for free for the dogs that are going to the Veterans. She is Fantastic...we are blessed to have her on board. Her husband Ron was in the Army for a short period, but is now a civilian. They have two adorable daughter's named Shelby and Karsyn.
Eventually our goal is to have a small place so that the veterans and the dogs can meet in a very mutual area. We would also like to have our supporting services available so that the public can use them to support all of these wonderful Veterans and pets.
Please call if you have any questions. We would love to hear any of your ideas or thoughts. The HP4HV Pet Store will be up around Oct/Nov with sections being added gradually.
Thanks for looking into our new, but very compassionate and passionate, non-profit!
Brenda and Family
